Online Appraisal

D. Let me start by letting you know that I don’t know much about coins beyond spending them. I went through many of your pages of prayer appraisals and found them quite informative as well as hilarious. Your comments crack me up. With that being said, please go easy on me. I got these coins recently from a gentleman who owed me money. There are many more besides these ones but I didn’t want to overload you. My intent is to see if There is any value to compensate for what he owed me. Thanks for your assistance and I look forward to hearing from you. Top Row (all circulated condition and easily identifiable) 1869 Shield Nickel. 1899 V Nickel 1901 V Nickel 1912 V Nickel 1864 2 Cent Coin 1890 Canadian 5 cent coin 2nd Row 1858 Flying Eagle Penny (worn but still identifiable) 1862 Indian Head Penny - pretty very good condition. 1906 Indian Head Penny - same as 1962 condition 1907 Indian Head Penny- same as above 1907 Indian Head Penny - same 1917 Wheat Penny - circulated but easily identifiable. 3rd Row 1926, 1928, (2) 1929, 1937, 1937 D wheat pennies. All circulated but good condition. The first 1929 Penny has a crack (?)across center and the coloring is lighter in that area. It almost looks like it was bent at the middle but it’s not. Cool looking. 4th Row 1939 S, 1940, 1944, 1946, 1946 S, 1951 D Wheat Pennies. Good Circulated condition. 5th Row 1832 Dime - worn, circulated condition. Also been holed. 1876 10 Ore Coin nice, circulated condition 1913, 1914 D, 1914, 1945 P Dimes - the first three are circulated with wear but easily identifiable. The 1945 D is in great condition. I apologize if this is confusing. Thank you! Kim Jenkins

I'm glad you took the time to look through, I wish more people would. I'm not a monster, if people are polite and don't act like experts and read my FAQs and don't submit a thousand coins I do what I can to help. You have a lot of "type" coins and approximate values for coins in the neighborhood of "good" are as follows: Common wheat cents usually have a book value of $0.50 to $1 but when selling it's get what you can, we only buy them at 1.5 to 2 times face value. Indian cents, we buy these for 10 to 25 cents and sell for a dollar. The earlier, thick planchet Indian cents sell for more like $3-5, and the Flying Eagle, $20. We purchase liberty nickels for 15-30 cents and sell for a dollar. That shield nickel is probably $15-20. 1890 Canada 5 cents should have about a dollar of silver in it, and that's about all it's worth. A shame about that 1832 dime, I'd ask $5-15 for this "problem" coin. Your silver dimes are worth around $2 each. Prices for all these things can vary a lot, and dealers mark them up a lot because they are common and a lot of work to sell individually. If you look at closed auctions on eBay you will see that, But these are reasonable averages.
