Online Appraisal

D. I recently found a 1923 S Peace dollar in my collection, but it had a gold face/bust on the obverse side. I looked into it a lot and I couldn't find anything on it. I've seen one other person list one similar on Ebay, but other than that, I cant find anything at all. It almost looks like the whole coin was at one point fully gold (or what looks to be gold) on the outside, but it wore off. When I looked closer, I found little spots of gold scattered on both sides. Do you have any information on what it could be, if anything? *Also, the camera was a bit weird so it sort of looks like there's some mint errors but there aren't - it's just in a coin case, is all.

Third party companies do this to resell the Peace dollars as novelties. It really does nothing but reduce the value of the coin. We sell these for $25-30 when we get them. The one on eBay I saw has an asking price of $2,000. Good luck to him.
