Submit An Item For Free Appraisal

We kindly ask you to limit your request to ONE item, preferably with images of both sides. We specialize in items that are older and of some historic importance. Please include photos of both sides if possible.

We may use your appraisal on our site as reference for others with the same item(s). We'll never display your personal information and will remove all sensitive information from your submission. Please contact us for a private appraisal. View our privacy policy.

Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. Looks like a piece of the die broke off and got imbedded into the coin

Creative, but the likelier thing here is that someone put two nickels together with pressure and one impressed the other.

D. Silver certificate 1057 B series. I believe it has cutting errors

What might qualify as an error today was random production technique back then. We buy these at 10% over face value and try to sell for two dollars at shows.

D. 1945 wheat penny

Common, just a few cents!

D. 1925 Peace Dollar

Though it has $14 in silver today, they are selling for closer to $20.

D. Japanese 10 yen

Common world coin, fun but pennies!

D. Several coins that were given to me from a dear friend who was a collector of coins.

Look like reproductions of otherwise valuable coins. You can probably rule out authenticity by weighing in grams and researching original weights.

D. Error coin 1982

Are you asking us or telling us?

D. 1928 penny missing the L iberty penny Coin error

Not considered an error. It's not uncommon for coins to have minor issues like that. The dies get worn and dirty, the coins get damaged in circulation. Doesn't necessarily add value.
