Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.
Photo Criteria: Acceptable photo formats are gif, jpg, and png and no larger than 15 MB. If you are using an iPhone, make sure that the photo is not set to LIVE, as this format will be not be uploaded.

D. This is an Alexander III Silver Drachm (336-323). I recently purchased it and have a concern that it's real. Can you help with this verification? Thanks so much.
It doesn't look entirely authentic but Incant rule it out from the photo. It's either not real or it's heavily worn with environmental damage and past cleaning. I would test the silver with an analytic probe if I had it in hand. You could pay to certify it but it's not worth the price. You could also check the mass against similar coins in public auction records. My recommendation to you is to not get too hung up on this particular piece. Rather, try to attend Coin shows, perhaps take a course ...

Clad is a production process nor a material. You have a quarter with environmental damage. Spend it.
D. I have a 1943 Wheat Mint Penny it is Silver it is the prettiest penny I ever saw anywho I'm trying to see how much it is worth a and I would to sell it I also have a 1946,1951,1955,1956 all of them are Wheat Mint if your interested in my coins please let me know..
Steel, not silver. We buy wheat cents at 2 cents each.
