We kindly ask you to limit your request to ONE item, preferably with images of both sides. We specialize in items that are older and of some historic importance. Please include photos of both sides if possible.

We may use your appraisal on our site as reference for others with the same item(s). We'll never display your personal information and will remove all sensitive information from your submission. Please contact us for a private appraisal. View our privacy policy.

Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. 1875 S U.S. silver trade dollar

D. I have coins my mother collected before she passed away she left a note saying some are valuable I there are many many for me to go through but here are some photos of what I have gone through so far i have done some research and have other appraisal info sent out Im just wanting to get an idea on what i have. Thank you Amanda J Price

Your images don’t show and they read zero bytes. But I’ll tell you this: many people have been done a disservice of having elders tell them that coins they left are valuable. I suggest you read the tutorials and FAQS on our website, top center hvcoins.com, it has typical values for the kinds of coins you probably hold.

D. Looks like a error that says L776-1976

Somebody or something mechanically scraped the one off. This is post mint damage, and decreases the value of the coin.

D. Hey, I truly believe this was coated with silver at the mint because it's flawless and has no runs or any type of damage marks. It does not stick to a magnet. Can you help me with this ?

That’s the problem I have: people write me after they’ve already made a decision about what they truly believe. I’m taking my second advanced course on error coins in Colorado right now. I know what it is if you care to hear it. It’s not flawless. It’s a heavily worn common date cent. It’s the sort of thing that third-party companies do, they coat coins with gold and silver, and then sell them as novelties. It has no appreciable value, I’m sure they charged a pretty penny, but I would put it in ...

D. 1967 penny with the L in liberty missing ….

Circulation wear will do this. You can still spend it as a cent.
