We kindly ask you to limit your request to ONE item, preferably with images of both sides. We specialize in items that are older and of some historic importance. Please include photos of both sides if possible.

We may use your appraisal on our site as reference for others with the same item(s). We'll never display your personal information and will remove all sensitive information from your submission. Please contact us for a private appraisal. View our privacy policy.

Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. Hi! My name Is billy, I have these coins I would like to appraise. I have Morgans But i do not know what they are worth. I also have a 1982 Proof set but its locked up in the safe becasue im a only 8. And i also have a 1923 silver. Certificate With blue seal. And a 2 dollar bill from the 1950s. I did not pay much for them but im trying to get a value. If you would like pictures i will try to get some. Do you know the value of the bills and coins? Thanks.

The 1898-O is common, they made four million; but at least 63 is an uncirculated grade. This one is worth around $35. The other two are common too, unless the 1879 has a "CC" mint mark on the bottom of the back, they are worth $20. The proof set is a common date, $6-7 retail. The large size silver certificate is probably worth $5-10 depending upon condition; the $2 red seal, about $5. These are estimates of course!

D. Is this an error nickel?

Looks likelier that someone ground down the edges.

D. Is this an error quarter coin? It’s copper color both sides. It’s very thin. Weight is 1.25 grams

No. You can get this effect by putting a quarter in nitric acid, which strips off the outer layer.

D. Good quality 1931S Buffalo Nickel I got from a pile of loose coins at a coin store. Only paid 10$ but was told it could easily be at least twice as much.

It could also be half. Grading is very subjective. But I think $10 is about right, you should be confident about your purchase. If you can really get twice that for an uncertified coin, you're a skilled dealer!

D. Please find attached pics of a quarter that I found in my change. There is one like it on the internet worth $30,000…. It say’s No Mint, Rare with error, unique , border letters. The one that have is obviously “No Mint” but I don’t know what to look for as an error. My coin looks identical but I what do I know? Thank you very much for your time. So many Lean2s, too little time Douglas R. Arnold #4693W 62 Pendergast Road Phoenix, New York 13135 Home: 315-695-4441 Cell: ...

There's a lot on the Internet that I can't explain. If they want to pay you $30,000 for your quarter I would take it. Because as far as I can see yours is worth $.25. No mint means Philadelphia, Philadelphia did not use a letter back then. I'm sorry so much out there is misleading, it leads to dozens of questions a week for me because people on Etsy and other sites are confused or dishonest.

D. It's a 2017 mint marked with a d nickel that appears to be copper

People don't realize most "nickels" are two thirds copper. With environmental exposure, yours is showing it's true colors!

D. 1965 dime

One year earlier it would be silver. This one is face value.

D. Bicentennial quarter

Merely 25 cents; they made millions.

D. 1940 nickle

Though this many have a "book" value of 50 cents it's just a nickel.
