Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.
Photo Criteria: Acceptable photo formats are gif, jpg, and png and no larger than 15 MB. If you are using an iPhone, make sure that the photo is not set to LIVE, as this format will be not be uploaded.

D. Unopened 1981 Proof Coin Set. I am trying to ascertain if any of the coins have the more rare type II clear "S". I am not an expert by any means, but the "S" on the penny appears to be flatter & more consistent with the type 2 images I saw online. Thank you so much!
Doubt it. We have it posted that we don't deal with such varieties, it's a wild goose chase. Every single coin has to have type II for the set to have that designation.

A religious bison? That cross is what you get at the intersection of two scratches. Under a dollar.

They sell for $50-$70 in new condition. The problem is, the cost of cleaning, polishing, and testing, and repairing can cost twice that, and many people no longer wear watches. If you have the original box and papers it's a plus. I'm interested but we have to be conservative. Shows are busy, so what I recommend, if possible, is to send photos of the others in advance, front and back (you did a really nice job with the reverse photo on this one), which will help us prepare. You never know, there ...

These are worth around $40 retail. Better dates fetch more, but we tend not to see them in loose, circulated groups.
