Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.
Photo Criteria: Acceptable photo formats are gif, jpg, and png and no larger than 15 MB. If you are using an iPhone, make sure that the photo is not set to LIVE, as this format will be not be uploaded.

These are heavily counterfeited. But yours seems to be in a holder, can you tell us the certification company and grade? Without those I have to estimate it at $150 in value. If real.
D. Error penny? Found this double struck error penny. Dated both 1972 D and 1973 D. And missing L in liberty on Lincoln face side, and seems to be missing letters on reverse side in Latin phrase?
This is not likely to be a mint error, I can't see how that would come about, it looks suspicious. You could pay to have it certified but I can't advise that in good conscience, as they are likely to agree it was altered. I agree it's somewhat convincing. But I'm not convinced.
