Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. 1974 nickel missing the word five on the back

Well when you have a coin with heavy damage, these things happen.

D. This is a 2003 d penny it appeares to have no copper outside also looks as if it came from the mint like this does not look alterd in any way looks to be either all silver or all zinc my email is jda4059@gmail.com thank you

It’s likely plated, I don’t know how you’d show it originated from the mint. They wouldn’t do that. Follow up: “ There is no sighns of it being plated that I can see if it was plated what should I look for..... If it is as I say an trully an error coin what would it be appraised at.......I do believe it is the real deal how can I find out if it is plated or not” Answer:By asking a professional like me. It’s plated. ? It probably weighs too much from the plating. ...

D. Good condition

I suspect it’s not real. Check the mass in grams.

D. Miller planer June 28 1870

I love used tools but they are a “get what you can” thing. I’d want $25!

The damage renders it circulated.

D. Uncirculated eye crack

Not following. Safe to spend.
