Submit An Item For Free Appraisal

We kindly ask you to limit your request to ONE item, preferably with images of both sides. We specialize in items that are older and of some historic importance. Please include photos of both sides if possible.

We may use your appraisal on our site as reference for others with the same item(s). We'll never display your personal information and will remove all sensitive information from your submission. Please contact us for a private appraisal. View our privacy policy.

Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. Found this 1986 Roosevelt dime in circulation definitely a mint error from Philadelphia...is it worth get graded?

Why would you blame that on the mint? Definitely post-mint alteration. They will not grade a damaged coin.

D. My Aunt passed away & I was given her coin collection. I have these 2 1979 Susan B Anthony coins. Most of her collection is JFK half dollars. Any help here would be much appreciated, Thank you

Odd to put them in such fancy archival holders, they are just dollars. JFK halves are face value after 1970. 1965-70 figure a couple bucks each. 1964, $7-8 each. If you have a lot before 1971 or gold jewelry to sell we can meet for an offer!

D. 1

1 it is!

D. Bicentennial quarter that is clearly off center

Not as clear to me, less than one percent. Maybe hold the coin slightly to the right when you spend it.

D. 1941 penny

Well, my level of training tells me there is some damage to this coin. Consequently, you’ve got a penny. Actually, cent. They don’t have pennies in the US, they have them in England.

D. Hello. I found dollar and half dollar coins from 1800’s, early-mid 1900’s, in cleaning out my Dad’s home. See attached. Do they have worth? I also have a few other early 1900 coins, 1940 nickels… Should I make an appointment to review? I also have lots of Susan B Anthony, and Bicentennial/70’s half dollar and dollars, $2 bills. Unsure if of any value or not? Many thanks.

To give you a rough value, your silver dollars are worth $20 apiece. The Half Dollars, seven or eight. You might want to read the tutorials of the top of our homepage. Most modern coins, after 1970, are worth face value. We would love to meet with you to do a proper appraisal or make an offer. We would check every coin for its date and mint mark condition. Usually you don’t find rarities in loose coins from circulation.

D. Can I please get an appraisal for a Queen Elizabeth II 1971 new penny. This is a rare collectors coin. Your opinion on the value of the coin would be much appreciated

It always intrigues me when people ask for an appraisal, and state what they have is a rare coin. The purpose of a proper appraisal is to tell you whether it is a rare collectors coin. In this case, it’s a common coin actually, and it’s still worth its face value in United Kingdom. So treat yourself to some fish and chips and spend it in good health.

D. Found a coin. Is it worth anything?

What I love about coins is that they are always worth something. In this case, a modern coin and currency that’s been replaced by the euro, it’s probably suitable for trick-or-treaters. I would put it in my $.25 bin.

D. have inherited a coin collection which had an old appraisal from the estate from years ago, but I am looking to have it reappraised please. There are several rolls that are unopened so I did not open them in the photos and there are several 1964 Kennedy half dollars which are specified as being picked up uncirculated from a bank in covers. I have attached photos of all of collection and there’s one other small collection of foreign coins. If I could get an in-depth appraisal on this to see wh...
