Submit An Item For Free Appraisal

We kindly ask you to limit your request to ONE item, preferably with images of both sides. We specialize in items that are older and of some historic importance. Please include photos of both sides if possible.

We may use your appraisal on our site as reference for others with the same item(s). We'll never display your personal information and will remove all sensitive information from your submission. Please contact us for a private appraisal. View our privacy policy.

Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. 2005 Buffalo nickel. It is uncirculated and never been touched. The D print on the front has a “mirrored” stamp (backwards D). I have been unable to find any information about coin errors similar to this one. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would not be so sure about the condition, the rim has more than "bag" marks and there are scratches on the chin and other devices. The mirrored D is very interesting but could be something added after the production process. I can't think of any mint errors that would cause this in the production process with no other effect.

D. A 1964. Silver quarter

This has $5 in silver, and that's pretty much what determines the value.

D. Came across this 1978 penny it appears to me (Untrained) that it got stamped by the die again around the date one can clearly see the partial word "United" in reversed or mirror where the die struck it again maybe?

If the die had struck again, it would not be reversed, as it clearly is. This is more likely from another coin getting smacked into it. And while that might happen at the mint, it also might happen in someone's basement, and does not make for a desirable error.

D. Kennedy 50cent from 1974-1981

Spend them in good health, from 1971 on they are just face value.

D. 2000 P gold dollar

It's bronze. And a dollar.

D. 1957 benjamin franklin half dollar

I thought Lincoln was the one who got shot. This has ten bucks of silver in it, but is a damaged coin.
