Submit An Item For Free Appraisal

We kindly ask you to limit your request to ONE item, preferably with images of both sides. We specialize in items that are older and of some historic importance. Please include photos of both sides if possible.

We may use your appraisal on our site as reference for others with the same item(s). We'll never display your personal information and will remove all sensitive information from your submission. Please contact us for a private appraisal. View our privacy policy.

Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. Silver feathers (improperly annealing) proof set Sasquatch dollar.

My girlfriend says it's the secret money that the Yeti use. I think she's on to something.

D. As u can see I have a 1985 quarter that has a indented star on it now I can't find this error on any coin ever and was curious what it is worth as a one of a kind. Thank you for ur time in this

That's because it's not an error. It's a star. One that somebody added to the quarter with a mallet and a punch. if you read through the answers posted on this website, you will see a number of other one-of-a-kind coins with different things punched into them at various times. Why not call it priceless?

D. 1863 Indian Head cent “reverse mint error”

Perhaps you can fix this "reverse mint error" by pushing the little slivers of metal back into place where they were cut from. You can actually see the part of the rim that they sloughed off of. I know, I know, here comes the hate mail.

D. My husband got it as change. The one side looks like it was grinded but it's smooth to the touch. We are just wondering if it's a error coin and what it's valued at. You look at tge sides all that's there is the nickel clad. Thank u Teresa swiger

So you take a quarter, you grind it down, and you smooth it out. (I don't mean you or him, I believe he found it in change.) No, that does not make it an error coin. Within these pages we have answered about half a dozen questions with similar looking coins that are fairly intact on one side and featureless on the other. I don't know what motivates people to do it, but it's not a scarcity

D. 1999 georgia quater with a lump in it ..if you need more pictures let me know ..and i know its not easy to see pict. But any info will be great on how this might happen. N what the metal may be

This is the fourth or fifth such coin we've seen in these pages. Perhaps it commemorates national solder week. it was almost certainly done with heat, either applied to the coin, or to a piece of metal that ended up becoming affixed to it.

D. 1975 no s dime

If originally in a sealed proof set, this would be worth thousands of dollars. Outside of such a container, it's a regular issue Philadelphia dime.

D. 1981?dime error?

Perhaps a miniature tractor escaped within the mint.
