Submit An Item For Free Appraisal

We kindly ask you to limit your request to ONE item, preferably with images of both sides. We specialize in items that are older and of some historic importance. Please include photos of both sides if possible.

We may use your appraisal on our site as reference for others with the same item(s). We'll never display your personal information and will remove all sensitive information from your submission. Please contact us for a private appraisal. View our privacy policy.

Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. Bought at online auction. not sure the value. Came with a little piece of paper with the letters WGDD written on it. Any info is appreciated.

Well a little tricky. I'd say it's worth around $35 retail. I would grade it a strong fine, one with good eye appeal. Curious what you paid!

With... the Bat Phone? Hard to without a number. From what I can see, you should spend the U.S. coins, and give the rest to kids... sooner rather than later. Nothing very expensive here!

D. 1966 sms Quarter

SMS stands for "Special Mint Set." If this came from one, it is now, with wear and no original packaging, worth just a quarter.

D. The (O) in Ellington isn't complete its not damaged just wasent dyed properly.

Sigh. I am at a loss for words when people form their own conclusions about circulated coins and then seek validation for it. As for the "o," it either suffers from circulation wear or from a lesser quality die. Neither scenario adds any value to coins.

D. Quarter color of penny 1965, 1999 Pennines color of a dime

Quarters, like cents (Britain has pennies, not the US) are made mostly from copper, so it logically follows that sometimes when they suffer environmental damage, both coins oxidize to a similar color. As for the light colored cent, it could be that the copper coating has worn off and is showing the underlying zinc. However the features are strong so I'm thinking it might also be a coin that somebody coated with zinc chemically in a science activity or something. What you should be asking about i...
