Submit An Item For Free Appraisal

We kindly ask you to limit your request to ONE item, preferably with images of both sides. We specialize in items that are older and of some historic importance. Please include photos of both sides if possible.

We may use your appraisal on our site as reference for others with the same item(s). We'll never display your personal information and will remove all sensitive information from your submission. Please contact us for a private appraisal. View our privacy policy.

Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. I have a collection of coins similar to the images I have uploaded. Looking for an assessment on these and possible selling the entire collection. Thanks! Mike

Mike, you have a couple hundred here give or take. I think you should call me at 649-3317 (area code 914) for a proper assessment and offer. The hard dates for liberty head nickels are 1885 and 1886. These are desirable. The modern sets have face value and bullion value, but not a lot more than that because so many are still available. It is what it is and we need it for customers, there is a shortage of material at the right price! Marc

If it had been double stamped, the "p" would not be reversed. This is when one coin is pushed hard into another. You can do it in your basement with a vise. It has no extra value.

D. I have a 2000 Jefferson D Nickel and on the back side of the coin where it shows "UNITED" it looks like it shows "UNHED". Would you have any information about the coin?

Felix Schlag designed the Jefferson nickel, which debuted in 1938. It's one of the longest-running coin designs in U.S. history. Yours shows typical circulation wear. We estimate the value at five cents.
