Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. I've over one hundred Straity Settlement coins and one dozen or so seem to exhibit mint errors but I'm not sure. I wish to sell all my SS coins but also not sure if auction is the correct way to go. Do I sent attached coin for grading?

Unless you are trained to recognize mint errors, you probably won't recognize them. They are scarce and it's highly unlikely you would have a dozen within a group of 100-200. Also, production methods from older eras were poorer so errors command less value. The coins pictured here are corroded and there is nothing you can do to undo the environmental damage. I suggest you put them all together for a photo to see whether any are worth more.
