D. Good day. I’m new to collecting and came across this 2021 penny with no mint mark. The color is off and is more red and dark brown than the usual 2021 penny in there appears to be a cut of mark on the back around the shield towards the left hand side. I’d like your opinion as to whether or not any of these items could be environmental damage or post production damage or if I might have found a penny error. Thank you so much.

The retail price of you coin in very fien is about $2,500. If you can get $2,000 out of a dealer or collector, you're doing fine.

It looks like an off-center error that would be of some value. But my guess is that it’s not real. I recommend you check the mass in grams and see if it’s ferromagnetic.

Heavy damage renders it to a very low value.
