Submit An Item For Free Appraisal

We kindly ask you to limit your request to ONE item, preferably with images of both sides. We specialize in items that are older and of some historic importance. Please include photos of both sides if possible.

We may use your appraisal on our site as reference for others with the same item(s). We'll never display your personal information and will remove all sensitive information from your submission. Please contact us for a private appraisal. View our privacy policy.

Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. John f Kennedy 1776 1976 half dollar

Nice example of a bicentennial issue, but still half a dollar.

D. 1945 wheat penny rare

Actually 1945D, which is rarer than the 1945. They made only 266 million. So as soon as they melt down 265.999 million yours will become even rarer. I buy them for two cents and sell them for a nickel in this condition.

D. 1943 Lincoln penny

This is the one year they made them out of steel to conserve copper for the war effort. Yours shows rust and so it's only worth a cent.

D. 1878 CC Morgan Silver Dollar 7 Feathers

CC is the mint mark for Carson City. This is a more desirable mint, the numbers were lower; figure $100 for this lovely dollar!

D. Washington 1979 no mint mark quarter

When did the 70s become historic? I'm not that old! No mint mark = Philadelphia. Spend it!

D. 1966 quarter with what I thought looked doubled I'm not sure how to see errors well yet

Which is why we say, "Buy the book before you buy the coin." You can read up on them, but my feeling is, if the error is so subtle it's not obvious, then it isn't really much of an error, is it. So 1/4 dollar is the price tag for this one.

D. 1776.1976 quarter

Yep, good ol' 25 cents, they made many!

D. 1776.1976 quarter

Bicentennial quarters are generally face value.

D. 1992 close am penny

Close, far, up, down, it's just a cent to me. I'll tell you though, I went onto eBay and saw that a couple had sold for $500 or more. And the interesting thing was, both sellers sold the coin with one bid, and they had zero feedbacks. So...what this tells me: I think there may be a scam where someone is setting up fake sales to elevate the price of these things, kind of like a penny stock pump and dump scheme. They stage purchases of silly little minor varieties to make it look like they fetch a...
