Submit An Item For Free Appraisal

We kindly ask you to limit your request to ONE item, preferably with images of both sides. We specialize in items that are older and of some historic importance. Please include photos of both sides if possible.

We may use your appraisal on our site as reference for others with the same item(s). We'll never display your personal information and will remove all sensitive information from your submission. Please contact us for a private appraisal. View our privacy policy.

Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.

D. Not sure if the defect is genuine?

My guess is that it is. It would be hard to replicate.

D. 1981 series $20 bill. In good condition. Appears to have been double printed backwards on the back side of the bill as you can see in the pictures

And more heavily on the left than on the right side, you don't usually see this. I put it between 50 and $100 in value.

D. 1804 draped busts silver dollar

You have a copy of a famous silver dollar.

D. Ancient coin?

Yes possibly Roman or Greek. Looks real, $15-20.

D. 1943 wheat Steele back penny

Just a few cents in value.

D. 1980 penny is missing letters in section of "In God We Trust"

This happens when coins wear during circulation. REVISED ANSWER: You don't see what we see, hundreds of letters a month, with many coins that wear unevenly as this one. On Tue, Oct 19, 2021, 12:00 PM Eugene K wrote: I can get a better pic an resend it. I don't see how that many letters on a coin wears off and if they did how it didn't wear the ones down that are visibly next to them. ...

D. 1943 Lincoln Wheat Penny 100%Copper weighs 3.1

This illegible planchet can't be 1943, they used zinc plated steel that year.

D. Are these die marks all over it especially were the hole is on tails side, its raised right in George Washingtons head, which is directly opposite each other?

No. You are looking at damage that was done to this coin in circulation. First of all, the minted would not use a die that was heavily damaged. Second, if the die had pits for some reason, you wouldn't have depressions on the coin you would have raised blobs because metal flows into the gaps in the die. But that's not what's going on here.
