Most inquiries we get are about circulated coins made after 1971, and/or coins where people mistake post-mint damage and wear for "errors". You can expect us to affirm these are face value. We ask that before you write and submit such questions, to PLEASE first read through our existing postings and our "what it's worth" primers.
Photo Criteria: Acceptable photo formats are gif, jpg, and png and no larger than 15 MB. If you are using an iPhone, make sure that the photo is not set to LIVE, as this format will be not be uploaded.

D. 1954 Unknown Penny Thanks for the free appraisals. No need to reply if this is only worth a penny. My Uncle was a rare coin collector and he has 4 pennies in his collection which.... for reasons unknown to me... he paid over a dollar for around 1960. This is one of them. Did he pay almost $2 for this penny, a few years after it was minted, in vain?
No. Because he enjoyed it. There are however movements in coin markets and there was a craze for high-grade rolls and individual specimens back then. So at the time it made sense. But I'm not sure why you're calling it rare.

British penny for the $.25 bin.
D. 1967 kennedy silver half dollar..mint condition.
Even in mint condition it is only worth about three dollars.
D. Two quarters the dark one is a 1967 no mint mark and the other quarter is 1966 no mint mark
No mintmark = philadelphia. Together these are worth a total of half a dollar.

The banknote isn't anything special, but that holder, that's worth a million bucks! Go to that website and sell them everything you own, they pay the most!

D. 1965 Lincoln cent. Appears to have doubbling on FG. The rest of coin has machine doubbling. This would be the first doubbling of any kind for this year. Should be rare and valuable. Coin in very good condition
Rarity does not translate to value. And I don't agree with the diagnosis. See my note on modern errors.
D. I have a 2013 Mount Rushmore quarter that appears different from other quarters. There are no ridges and it will not fit into a coin slot. Is this an error coin? If so what would be the value if any? Thank you.

My guess is no, if anything it's damaged. You must have missed my disclaimer about modern error coins, suggest you go back and read it. Thanks.
