Q. My father passed on a large collection of coins in the airtight plastic capsules, a lot of american eagles, canadian maple leaf, and other silver coins and bullion that mostly date after 1970. Are they worth more because of the capsule?. I'm guessing from your faq that the answer is no, but I didn't see anything that mentioned it specifically. Thanks!

We grade and value coins based upon what they are, not how they are stored or presented. Are you interested in selling? Marc FOLLOW UP: With regard to insurance, if you wish to hold and are considering insuring, we do insurance appraisals. A few things to consider: Most regular home insurance companies will not cover cash, jewelry, or collectibles unless you get a line-item rider, which can be expensive. We are happy to provide an appraisal for this but ask them first to look at our ...

Q. Hello. Do you appraise ancient Roman and Greek coins, or can you recommend someone who does?

We do! We also partner with other specialists.

Q. I see your response about Morgan silver dollars being common and your offer to buy for around $12. If my calculations are correct, the Melt value of the silver content at $24.45/oz is about $18. Am I wrong?

Well, I never say the customer is wrong, but I’m not sure what you’re reading. Perhaps it’s an old response? We have over 5000 answers. Your calculations are correct, and we can usually buy them for above that melt value. For better conditions or dates, for even more.

Q. I have several 1925 & 1926 quarters in various conditions I also have several 1907 dimes & one that looks to be a 1833 dime. Are they worth bringing in? Also, how do I cash-in other coins that are faded, possibly from the same time frame? Thank you

Dimes and higher are silver 1964 and earlier. The floor value is 10 times face, e.g., you should get no less than a dollar per dime and $2.50 per quarter. It’s up to you whether it’s enough, I always like to meet a new client. Just make sure to call or text for an appointment, it’s an office. We also handle jewelry, sometimes that’s more than the coins!

Q. Do you evaluate sports card collection?

Yes. However our experience has told us there isn't much value for items unless from before 1970. Feel free to tell me more or tell us how to reach you! Marc

Gold spot, $2,057. Want to sell?

Q. I want to know if my 1971 can you have dollar meant D is worth any money or can I get a appraisal

Guess you didn’t read our FAQs! Encourage you to.

Q. I came across a 1974 d penny and I want to know if it's something worth holding onto, I have scrolled through countless pictures and haven't found one like it. What caught my eye was how shiny it was. It has a deep indentation around Lincoln's head that is deeper toward the back that gives the words God we an unusual appearance and the rim of the coin has a slight wave around the od in god the letters also don't sit normal and the d almost looks like a second o

Doubt it. Can't say for sure without a photo, but we treat all coins after 1970 as face value, making this a cent.

Q. Hello, excuse me, in your inventory do you have ounces Libertad Mexico Antique 2018 or 2019?

Not sure what you mean by “antique”. We do have some libertads in stock, but I’d have to check the dates. They would be $45. Marc
