We grade and value coins based upon what they are, not how they are stored or presented. Are you interested in selling? Well, I never say the customer is wrong, but I’m not sure what you’re reading. Perhaps it’s an old response? We have over 5000 answers. Your calculations are correct, and we can usually buy them for above that melt value. For better conditions or dates, for even more.

Dimes and higher are silver 1964 and earlier. The floor value is 10 times face, e.g., you should get no less than a dollar per dime and $2.50 per quarter. It’s up to you whether it’s enough, I always like to meet a new client. Just make sure to call or text for an appointment, it’s an office. We also handle jewelry, sometimes that’s more than the coins!

Doubt it. Can't say for sure without a photo, but we treat all coins after 1970 as face value, making this a cent.
