Q. I've got a 1982 D small date penny that weighs 3.1. interested?

I find all coins interesting. Did you read all we wrote about these?

Q. I have a 1910 2 1/2 dollar gold coin on a 14k gold pendent. It's in excellent shape. No scratches. Still shiny and clean. Would it be worth anything?

"Shiny" is not always ideal, as polishing and cleaning coins detracts from their value. But we would probably be able to pay $250 or more, let me know if you want to bring it in.

Q. I submitted what might be an experimental 1943 wheat penny (per a local historian & collector) a few weeks back but I haven’t received any response back yet, can you please advise. Thank you.

Brian my answer was; "Looks like an attempt to fabricate a 1943 copper cent, which would be over $50K, but NGC realized it's not real, and "body bagged" it. This has no value. Sorry!"

Q. I have two 1964 proof quarters that came out of a roll. Is it true that the mint mark was a D stamped over S.

They are just worth the silver, five bucks each. We don’t find a premium and minor Varieties. Especially if circulated.

Q. I have a modest size collection of us and foreign coins, majority from early to mid 1900s Im sure you hear this regularly but I researched online and I see some of the coins I have are worth $$$. Luckily I don't trust majority online but also don't want to mistakenly disregard a potentially valuable piece. Long story long, I'd like to have a professional provide their opinion and hopefully something of interest. I separated anything I thought may be rare or valuable. Please let me know how to proceed, drop off for appraisal or schedule an appointment. I appreciate your help and time

The high prices you see online are usually scams, unrealistic asking prices, or high grade and rare specimens not commonly found in family collections. I suggest you read the FAQs we have at hvcoins.com (top center). If you still think you have more than face value call us at 649-3317 (area code 914) for an assessment. Marc
