Online Appraisal

D. Hello, (Picture explained below) I'm relatively new to coin hunting with less than 4 months experience, and have only gone through jars of loose change that my family and I have collected over the past couple years or so. I found a 1982 1c which I think might be special or worth having graded and auctioned. But again, I'm new to this so I was hoping to get a professional opinion from someone. The thing that makes this penny special (I think) is the fact that it looks like it's missing its copper makeup. That is, the penny looks like its made out of a dime's materials, and is shiny gray. It's the normal size of a penny, so it wasn't produced on a dime or nickel planchett. But I'm not sure what happened here. I don't think it was a chemical reaction to a cleaning solution, because even under a lens, I couldn't see any brown freckling through the silver color. I'd like to send you the pictures, however I'll have to wait until you respond so I can send them directly from my email. The website wasn't accepting my iPhone's photo format. Hope to hear back from you! Regards, Jay

You submitted what looks like a picture of a lock on a chair. We do not find valuable coins in loose change and regardless there are no 1982s that are   significantly more than face value.
