I have a few coins, including a buffalo nickel and a 1973 penny with no mint mark. I was curious if they are worth anything other than face value. I am happy to make an appt to come in person for an assessment, but want to know if it's worth it.

Patricia, our blogs have a lot of good info on pricing common collectible coins. Buffalo nickels like the one you have are worth around 25 cents; I see the reverse of what I think is a seated quarter, perhaps $10-15 depending on the condition of the obverse. I can't say these will pay for more than your parking and gas to visit us; what about jewelry? A gold bracelet can easily be $1,000... often it's worth the trip if you combine things. Marc
